Taman Inderawasih Malay Food Court on the map.
The food have to served by your own self is but not as great as mentioned by other visitors. Its a noisy food court can't have meals with peace.Local visitors & the selling people pull the face ang angry all the time is unbearable but no one cares about the basic mannerism. The price of ais kacang is most expensive in that area, nothing special in that just ice ang jelly only.Same goes with other dishes as laksa too,the kuah also so cair and quantity not evern half plate also.Overly priced! the service is worst. The waiters do not understand Bahasa,English or any other language properly & you have to struggle with your order. They also give an arrogant & dis-interested look when you take a seat & want to order something. The tables are not cleaned of the leftover food unless you ask for it and even before you are settled they will attack you asking for your drink requirements. The warm water is not free now, which used to be before. The food court is very famous & usually crowded with white skinned backpackers & that perhaps has sent a wrong impression to other tourists & locals that this might be a great place to eat!!The locals get very much impressed if an eatery is flocked by white skinned foreigners!
The said the food court has been long.Need major improvement.the sell person was not friendly, plates and cutlery needs to be wash clean before the next usage. once call them to replace new plates and cutlery, straighlt scold and shout in malay language like people not educated in public place! and simple touch about people religion and race without think deeply..just ask him to repleace the laksa spoon which so dirty not wash clean but they can get angry till touch about my religion and show out the bad sign. should not go again!
I have enjoyed malay food for 45 years and have experienced the good, bad and downright ugly. I was in Penang for a few days and thought to look up the recommended Malay cucuk udang and decided on this one. Not just the food (which was appalling) but the service was awful. I asked for a drink (which never came), I tried to get the attention of the waiters which was difficult because they were keen on serving the Malay customers.I also suffered later on when I got back to the hotel. I am struggling to match my experience with the positive ones on here. The staff were not friendly, the food was (definitely) not the best Malay food ever.
I thought it only happens to me, but actually some other people also experience the same! We went there and order the food with other court , nut we sit at the first court there , the aunty selling cucuk udang is come and ask for order , we told that we have our order with other court , the aunty shout and yelling to us say that we cant sit there without order their food , so from my experience shouldn't even be on the list anymore.
The guy serving used his BARE HANDS to scoop up food! We were in a "what the heck" mood and ate anyway. No tummy upset but dishes had no oomph.
just went to there have lunch and i'm disappointed & speechless when the malay uncle wearing the "songkok": selling ais kacang dont know how the way to talk with customer simply use the bad words n shout and yelling at public scold to the customer like a hell!! futhermore the food also not nice and so dirty just went to the table and took one of the dirty spoon from the table which is full of dirty cups to remove excessive ice from our drinks & he did it without any hesitation!
CUCUK UDANG & LAKSA AUNTY NEVER BUY THEIR FOOD JUST SCOLD AND TALK LOUD WITH THE CUSTOMER , NEVER GIVE REPECT TO THE CUSTOMER !!!
